Thompson boosts deaf cause

SNOOKER: PAUL Thompson's 43 break in the third frame helped Deaf ‘A’ to a 5-1 victory over Blue Club ‘A’ in the Pet Au Purrs Oldham Amateur Snooker League.
Deaf 'B' ground out a hard-fought 3-3 draw with Nimble Nook, breaks of 31 and 30 from MJ Smith in the final frame securing three points for the home side, but the aggregate point went to the visitors.
There is a delegates meeting on Sunday (12.30pm) at Chadderton Reform.
LEAGUE Leaders Moss Inn had a hard-fought home match against bottom club Crompton Cons and managed a 3-3 draw, claiming the aggregate by one point.
Cartshaft have moved into second spot above Comrades ‘A’ by one point.
It is now a three-horse race, with two games to go.
