Three and easy at Stamford

Date published: 06 April 2011

GOLF: RATHER like buses, you wait ages for one and then three come along.

And so it was at Stamford Golf Club where a trio of members grabbed holes in one as the golf season eased into full swing.

Stamford’s lady-captain, Joanne Akers, led the way with an ace at the 167-yards 16th hole.

A few days later, Eric Mirfin holed in one on the 178-yard fourth hole thanks to a perfect strike of his six-iron.

And Kevin Duffy rounded off the amazing sequence with a single shot on the 198-yards 18th, his choice of club being a five iron.
