RUGBY LEAGUE: SADDLEWORTH Rangers were beaten 28-6 at home by Thatto Heath in the National Conference League Premier Division last night — a result which ensures the visitors will finish top of the table prior to the end-of-season play-offs.
Michael Coates scored Rangers’ only try and goal, leaving the match poised at 12-6 at half-time before Thatto displayed their quality.
“They scored an interception try, two from kicks and one at the end,” said coach Keith Brennan.
“Our lads were fantastic again and you can’t take anything away from Thatto Heath — they are a very good rugby team.”
Saddleworth’s thoughts now turn to the Standard Cup final against Folly Lane which takes place on Good Friday at Manor Park (11am kick-off).
