Brennan wary of fatigue factor

RUGBY LEAGUE: SADDLEWORTH Rangers are battling tiredness ahead of tomorrow’s Standard Cup final showdown with Folly Lane at Oldham RU (11am kick-off).
The final is the third of four matches the National Conference League Premier Division outfit play in the space of eight days.
Rangers won the cup last year and will be desperate to hold on to the silverware.
Coach Keith Brennan admits he does not know much about their opponents, who play in the North-West Counties League Division One, but is focused more on which of his players will be fit.
"There are a lot of sore bodies,” he said.
“We will have the lads in at training tonight, seeing how they are all feeling and assess it from there.
"It is an awful lot to ask of amateurs, playing four games in a week."
Swinton-based Folly Lane arrived at the final by defeating Waterhead before a semi-final triumph over Higginshaw.
Brennan’s side got the better of neighbours Oldham St Anne’s prior to a last-four win against Hollinwood, which sealed their place in tomorrow’s clash.
Referee Malcolm Fallon will be overseeing his first Standard Cup final.
He will be aided by spare official Paul Knowles, and touch judges John Ashton and Ian Scott.
Admission to the final costs £5 for adults, with £2 concessions.
