Angling: ROB McEndry scored a sparkling win in the Todmorden AS open match on Townhouse.

He weighed in a massive 48lbs 4oz of carp on the feeder, with meat on the hook.

Second-best was former Oldham angler Pete Mottram, who attracted plenty of carp on the pole and corn, along with ide on caster, for 41lbs 10oz.

Tom Barlow was some way adrift in third place with 24lbs of carp on the long pole and pellet, while Gary Smith had 18lbs 5oz of ide and roach on the pole and caster.

MARK Webb claimed top spot in the latest of the Medlock Bridge AC open matches on an in-form Park Lake.
Drawn on peg 28, he enticed 14lb 12oz of quality roach, chub and skimmers using maggot on the pole at 13 metres.

Runner-up Billy Brierley had mainly chub with just the odd roach thrown in for 14lbs 6oz. He also used the maggot on the pole and waggler combination.

Chris Davies, in third, employed pole, waggler and caster tactics for 12lb 14oz of chub and roach.

Medlock Bridge AC have a cracking set of waters and the membership subscriptions are a bargain.

A family ticket, which includes husband, wife/partner and four juniors, is £50.

A senior membership is £35 and concessionary/disabled/student/OAP is £18, while it will cost junior £11.

The waters are Alexandra Park Lake, Cargate pool, Bottoms Reservoir and Strinesdale Reservoir.

The draw for Medlock Bridge AC open matches on the Park Lake is 9am, with fishing from 10am to 3pm.

ROYTON angler Brett Newton had a great day’s fishing at North Wales water Bron Effion, attracting ghost carp, f1s, bream, roach, barbel and roach.
The biggest surprise of the day was a massive 5lb 9oz perch as no-one had seen one in the water before.

Sweetcorn fished with just three sections of his pole and number eight elastic was the method Newton used to bag this specimen.

JOHN Jones (Grabolino Elton) took first place in the Brookside Thursday open match on the Snake Lake.
Opting for pole and pellet, he bagged 59lbs of small carp, f1s and silvers. Tameside angler John Shellam was second with a similar net of 48lbs 8oz.

ANOTHER ex-Oldham angler, Mark Lucas, was in the money again with a second place at Blundells Fisheries thanks to a 50lbs 11oz return.
