AMATEUR FOOTBALL; SANTOS are firmly in the hunt for promotion from the Lancashire and Cheshire League Division Two following a 5-2 win over Gatley.
With six games left, five wins will see Santos go up.
After an early Gatley strike caught them cold, Santos equalised through an Adam McKinny free-kick.
McKinny struck again just before half-time with a curling effort into the top corner.
Santos goalkeeper Richard Mason saved a penalty after the break and James Stockton doubled the advantage with a fine solo effort.
Keith Kurpass also netted with a long-range drive and, after Gatley pulled back a goal, Chris Stockton smashed the ball home to seal the victory.
AFC Oldham cruised to a 6-0 win at Moston Brook in Division One.
FAILSWORTH Dynamos won successive home matches in the Lancashire Amateur League Premier Division.
They beat Old Mancunians 2-1, and followed it up in midweek with a 2-0 victory at the expense of Castle Hill.
Dynamos are five points behind leaders Bury GSOB with two games in hand.
Chadderton saw off Bolton Lads Club 2-1 before defeating Bury GSOB reserves 3-2.
