FOOTBALL: HEYSIDE produced a below-par performance in the Huddersfield and District League Groom Cup final, losing 4-0 to Shelley.
An early goal and two further strikes just before half-time virtually ended it as a contest.
Heyside battled bravely in the second period but Shelley extended their lead with a free-kick 10 minutes from the end to seal victory.
Uppermill saw off Moldgreen 4-0 in Division One in midweek.
Skipper Bobby Greenwood pounced twice, and was joined on the scoresheet by Joel Longmore and Matt Ralph. It was the perfect response to a 4-2 defeat at Newsome at the weekend.
Kris Ventress and Greenwood got the goals.
With plenty of games in hand due to several cup runs this term, Uppermill can still secure a top-four place.
UPPERMILL are hoping to recruit a new football administrator.
Duties would include minute taking, keeping record of coaching qualifications and information, grant and funding applications, and review of funding streams suitable for the club.
To apply, email chairman Michael Reeves at michael.reeves@uppermillafc.co.uk
