Our four local sides have their own ambitions and although some of those hopes are loftier than others, each club will be hoping to put down a marker this weekend.
WERNETH, abject on the opening day of the season at Littleborough, were excellent on day two of the fixture list when swatting aside Ashton at home will be hoping for more of the same at Heywood tomorrow and at home to Clifton on Sunday.
ROYTON will be without professional Luke Procter this weekend, but have secured stand-ins for both days.
Austerlands paid man Humayun Farhat – the former Werneth pro – will play against Walsden at home tomorrow, while Gaurav Dhar, the Chorley pro, deputises for Procter at Unsworth on Sunday.
CROMPTON visit struggling Ashton tomorrow and are capable of winning.
A home game against Littleborough 24 hours later looks rather more difficult.
OLDHAM will fancy their chances at home to Middleton tomorrow before they travel to Radcliffe on Sunday.
