Glodwick in firing line

CRICKET: GLODWICK have the unenviable task of trying to stop Grant Hodnett in the Armstrongs Office Furniture Saddleworth and District Cricket League tomorrow.
A 200-run blitz from the Bamford Fieldhouse professional wrecked Friarmere’s hopes of recording a first-day shock, and the former Gloucestershire man is no doubt hungry for more big runs.
Glodwick got the better of Droylsden last Sunday, but the lads from Hollin Lane are an altogether different proposition.
Greenfield pit their wits against Hodnett 24 hours later, and hope to have overseas amateur Rahul Panta available for the visit of the reigning champions.
The all-rounder, from India, missed the opening-day success against Uppermill because of a hold-up in obtaining a visa.
Tomorrow: Bamford Fieldhouse v Glodwick; Droylsden v Greenfield; Hollinwood v Shaw; Saddleworth v Heyside; Stayley v Friarmere; Uppermill v Moorside. Open date: Austerlands.
Sunday: Austerlands v Saddleworth; Glodwick v Stayley; Greenfield v Bamford Fieldhouse; Heyside v Hollinwood; Moorside v Droylsden; Shaw v Uppermill. Open date: Friarmere
