Chaddy take title by a point

FOOTBALL: Chaddy End won the D & J Builders (North-West) Ltd Oldham Sunday League Premier Division title courtesy of a 6-1 win at the expense of Khartoum Northern.
The new champions pipped Rifle Range Reds to top spot by a solitary point.
Fitton Hill Rangers won 2-1 at Royton FC.
The Division Three Shield final at Chadderton FC saw Kenyon Arms trounce White Hart 4-0.
Jason Gradwell was at the double, with Kieron Milne and Karl Neild also on target.
In the Division Two Shield final, Royal Oak enjoyed a 3-2 victory against Northside in a tight encounter.
Mark Thompson, Andrew Nolan and Matthew Bruton pounced for the winners, with Chris Bennett and Luke Hancock replying for Northside.
Chadderton FC host the Division One Shield final between in-form Rifle Range Royal Blues and Highfield United on Sunday (11am kick-off).
It will be followed immediately by the Premier Division equivalent.
High Crompton face Royton FC at 2.30pm.
Uppermill find groove
KRISTIAN Ventriss struck twice for Uppermill in their 4-2 midweek home victory over Lepton Highlanders, in the Huddersfield and District League Division One.
He was joined on the scoresheet by skipper Dave Taylor and James Mooney.
It was the perfect tonic for Simon Tait’s side, who had lost 2-1 to Britannia Sports three days earlier, with the winner arriving in the fifth minute of stoppage time, much to the despair of the hosts.
Uppermill’s consolation in that match came courtesy of an own goal.
Diggle lost 4-3 at Berry Brow.
Reserves Division Two action saw Heyside draw 5-5 with Slaithwaite United.
Steven Partington mustered a hat-trick, while Matthew Nokes and Chris Taylor also netted.
Promotion for Santos
SANTOS secured promotion from the Lancashire and Cheshire League Division Two after a 1-0 victory over Gorse sealed third position in the table.
A second-half strike from Nial Sultan proved to be the winner for Santos, who required one point to achieve their goal.
In a nerve-jangling climax to the contest, Gorse missed a late penalty.
