CHRIS McDonnell continued his superb form in the Lake Garage CLL with a match-winning century at Ashton.
The Oldham skipper's knock of 123 enabled his side to amass a daunting 267. He was supported by Paul Thompson (37), while Siraj Kadodia took three for 72 and Ashton pro Ben Johnson 4-99.
Following a break for rain, Ashton were set a revised target of 191 off 29 overs.
But they were restricted to 108 for seven with Oldham bowler Craig Joy collecting four for 45.
WERNETH'S excellent form stalled at home to Unsworth, who batted first and made a challenging 229 for eight. John Wiggans top scored with 72.
A short rain break left Werneth chasing a revised target of 210, but they came up seven runs shy for the loss of eight wickets despite Jon Slater's 43.
CROMPTON gave Radcliffe a fright at the Racecourse before succumbing by four wickets.
Carl Taylor's men made 152 after taking first guard, with pro Fida Hussain hitting 56 and Michael Burns collecting five for 47.
Showers delayed Radcliffe's reply, but when they did go out to bat they needed a new target of 99.
That proved to be within reach for the loss of six wickets, Basit Murtaza making an unbeaten 55 and Crompton overseas amateur Sami Ullah taking five for 44.
WOODHOUSES moved to the top of the Lees Brewery Lancashire League Division One table after a home victory over Irlam.
Josh Tolley’s undefeated 110 put Mike Cassidy’s men on course for 208 for six.
Woodhouses dismissed their opponents for 69, with Sam Sweeney taking five for 25 and Luke Swards claiming four for 36.
DELPH drew at home to Honley in the Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership.
The visitors posted 257 for five, with Simon Kelly producing a half-century.
Bilal Khiljee’s undefeated 45 kept Delph in the mix, but the hosts needed 67 off eight overs, with only three wickets left.
However, rain breaks delayed the contest and after 32.4 overs, the umpires called it a day, leaving both teams with two points and Delph’s unbeaten record intact.
Delph’s match against Barkisland yesterday was abandoned because of rain.
