ROYTON'S overseas amateur Chris Hutchinson hit a sparkling unbeaten 83 as the Paddock outfit beat Rochdale by seven wickets in the Lake Garage CLL at Redbrook on Saturday.

The Aussie's match-winning knock came in a Royton reply of 190 for three after hosts Rochdale had scored 189 for seven, Liam Brown taking four for 13.

WERNETH were put in their place by Milnrow at Ladyhouse, the home side amassing a mighty 296 for nine thanks to pro Raheel Majeed's 72, 76 from Mark Fraser and an unbeaten 67 by Nathan Sinkinson.

Werneth were skittled for a disappointing 129, Matt Taylor hitting 44, ex-Royton spinner Joe Lovell taking three for 18 and Adam Good three for 38.

Monton and Weaste pro Paul Green was in top form as his team saw off CROMPTON at Glebe Street.

Green collected five for 38 as Crompton were bowled out for 114 and then hit an unbeaten 39 to steer his team to 115 for five.

OLDHAM were soundly beaten by reigning champions and current leaders Norden at the Pollards.

Overseas amateur Mark Lemm smashed an undefeated 102 and professional Michael Price 86 in Norden's healthy 254 for five.

And Oliver Makin (four for 22) and Chris Humphries (three for 21) wasted little time in polishing off Oldham for only 92.
