CRICKET: FORESTERS continued their impressive start to the Ashton and Oldham Cricket Alliance campaign with a home victory over Greengate.
Batting first, the hosts posted 202 for nine thanks to an unbeaten 101 from Quadir and J Gudru’s 37.
J Fairclough took three for 31 for the visitors, who were dismissed for 103, with I Bailey claiming four for 24.
Friends remain at the summit after winning at Europa Exiles.
Nadeem mustered 58 not out for the away side, who ended on 189 for nine.
Amin’s return of four for 28 helped bowl out Europa for just 74.
Newtonhurst lost all of their wickets for 121 at St Mary’s HC, but the home team were 41 runs shy of their goal when they were dismissed.
