Top honour for Phelan

RUGBY: SECOND-ROW man Gary Phelan was named Oldham RU’s player-of-the-season at the club’s annual awards’ night.
The young player-of-the-year was Charles Roscoe, while the players’ player prize went to Mark Hodge.
Steve Ingham, second-team manager and organiser of the beer festival, was the club’s worker of the year, and seconds skipper Matt Jakeman was the president’s choice.
Nick Hackman was the captain’s pick for the first team, with Scott Danvy (seconds), Phil Walmsley (thirds) and Matt Burgess (veterans) receiving the other accolades.
