MOORSIDE, beaten finalists in the 2010 Twenty20 Cup competition, face a tricky first hurdle in this year’s renewal — a home tie against Saddleworth and District Cricket League high-flyers Uppermill.
Heyside, the holders, have a bye.
Tomorrow’s first-round games in the Twenty20 Cup, sponsored by 20-20 Vision Uppermill, are —
Greenfield v Austerlands; Saddleworth v Hollinwood; Moorside v Uppermill; Droylsden v Glodwick. All matches start 6.30pm.
Byes: Heyside, Friarmere, Shaw, Stayley. Bamford Fieldhouse declined invitation to enter competition.
OUT of the LCB Cup, languishing in eighth place in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League table and now no longer in the National Knock-out Trophy... it hasn’t been a great season so far for Bamford Fieldhouse.
Hyde piled on the misery for Paddy McKeown’s men with a four-wicket win on Bank Holiday Monday.
In a match reduced to 24 overs per side, the reigning champions succumbed to 97 all out. Hyde, from the Cheshire League, reached their target with two balls to spare.
