LEAGUE CRICKET
DELPH exited the Heavy Woollen Cup after a home third-round defeat to Gomersal.
The visitors were all out for 234 before dismissing Delph for just 96.
It came 24 hours after Grant Jones’ men earned victory at Scholes in the Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership.
After restricting the hosts to 225 for six, they reached the target with six wickets to spare, with Irfan Zahoor contributing 64.
Micklehurst’s resurgence continued courtesy of a second successive victory over Linthwaite in the Cedar Court Conference.
The home side fought their way to 298 for eight, only for Jonny Forrester’s team to earn a fine four-wicket triumph.
Mark Brylowski top-scored with 79.
WOODHOUSES stayed at the top of the Lees Brewery Lancashire County League Division One table after a comfortable win at Roe Green.
Nick Hardman claimed five for 31 as the home team lost all their wickets for 158.
Josh Tolley’s 66 not out helped Mike Cassidy’s side reach their goal for the loss of just three wickets.
Woodhouses are now four points clear of second-placed Prestwich.
