FANS of amateur boxing are in for a treat this summer.
Oldham Boxing and Personal Development Centre, run by Eric Noi, presents a fundraising show at Queen Elizabeth Hall on Friday, July 8.
Organisers see it as a perfect opportunity for young fighters from the area to showcase their skills.
The venue has a boxing ring on a hydraulic stage stored under the main hall.
Proceeds go towards the redevelopment of the club’s new gym at Victoria House on Greaves Street. Having been based in Derker for three years, club officials believe the time has come to relocate, after a steady increase in membership.
The event — billed as ‘Oldham v the rest’ — will see the town’s finest amateur boxers face fighters from as far afield as Newcastle and Bristol.
There will be a three-course dinner and entertainment before the bouts get under way.
Tickets cost £15 for adults and £10 for children, with dinner packages also available. Tables are £400, £500 or £600. Contact Eric Noi on (0161) 628 8466 07988 701 805 email info@oldhamboxing.co.uk or call the Queen Elizabeth’s Hall on (0161) 770 4083.
