CRICKET: DELPH are riding high in the Drakes Huddersfield Premiership.
Grant Jones’ side climbed to the top of the table after an eight-wicket defeat of Skelmanthorpe and Honley’s defeat to Kirkburton.
Irfan Zahoor and Faisal Butt, with unbeaten knocks of 78 and 56 respectively, steered Delph to victory after Skelmanthorpe had made 154 for eight in a match reduced to 42 overs per side because of rain.
In the Cedar Court Conference, Micklehurst (224) made it three wins on the bounce with a 76-run win over Kirkheaton.
WOODHOUSES suffered an 85-run loss against Denton West in the Lancashire County League.
The Medlock Road outfit, who have been joined at the top of the table by Prestwich, were dismissed for 158 in reply to 243 for nine.
