GOLF: CHRIS PEIRSON carded a two-round total of 168-36-132 to win the Centenary Trophy, a major at Oldham Golf Club.
First-day prize went to Lynn Kershaw (82-12-70), while second-day honours went to Bev Scholes (71-8-63).
The first sweep was won by Julia Wild (195-55-140), and the second sweep went to Sheila Antrobus (176-32-144).
Beryl Martin won the subsidiary competition.
JANE FLETCHER shot a round of 75-6-69 to win lady vice-captain Fiona Dooley’s competition from Lisa Hall (90-19-71).
First division, first prize went to Jane Clarke (85-13-72), with the second prize going to Glynis Jones (101-28-73).
Steph Cocks (110-36-74) won the second division, first prize, while the second prize went to Kathleen Lomas (108-30-78).
CROMPTON and Royton’s Zoe Styles and Noreen Nicholson scored 37 Stableford points to win the South-East regional final of the Lancashire County Golf Association's Scott Leggatt Trophy at Ashton-under-Lyne.
They have qualified, along with six other couples from South-East Lancashire, to play in the finals at Whitefield Golf Club on July 20.
