ANGLING:
AFTER taking runners-up spot in the previous Diggle AC Tuesday evening match on Tanners Dam, Martin Taylor went one better in this week’s contest.
Using hookbait over casters at 14 metres, he bagged a super 16lb 4oz net of skimmers and roach.
Mick Henshaw, who had a level 13lb for second place, opted for meat over pellet at 13 metres to catch one carp and some skimmers.
Organiser Ian Walvin, in third with 11lb 14oz, employed meat on the hook and pellet feed on a straight lead for two small carp and a few skimmers.
DAVE Ireland clinched Monarch AC’s Wednesday match on the club water.
He had a catch of ide, skimmers and chub on caster and pellet up and down at 13 metres for a cracking 30lb 4oz net.
Dean Pickering was second again, and he boasted a mixed bag, including carp, skimmers and roach for 21lb 10oz using similar tactics.
PETER Cuniffe is the man to beat in the Medlock Bridge AC open matches on the Park Lake.
Situated on peg 30 among a shoal of fish, he again took the spoils thanks to a combination of hemp and caster at 11 metres which tempted roach, chub and a few small skimmers for 18lb 11oz.
Steve Clegg (Saints) was second on the day, with his pole, waggler and maggot approach netting a good-sized chub and roach.
Monday evening’s Medlock Bridge match went to Ian Bolton with 14lb 15oz.
Using 4mm pellet hookbait over micro pellet feed at 11 metres, he landed decent bream, two small tench and a few chub.
Runner-up Billy Brierley applied maggot at 13 metres to attract small roach and perch in a 13lb 11oz bag.
STUART Taylor won the latest Lees and Hey AS match on Blundells Fisheries’ East Lake.
He had 24lb 5oz net, thanks to
maggot at 10 and 11 metres which tempted f1s and silvers.
Steve Blackburn weighed in 19lb 9oz of f1s on meat at nine metres — and all in the last 90 minutes.
Third-on-the-day Steve Sharples, used the tip and bright green worms for 15lb 5oz of small f1s.
THE Todmorden AS match on Cliviger went to Dave Richmond, who had a 37lb 12oz net made up of bream on pole and caster.
Pete Fitton, in second place, boasted 23lb 8oz of carp.
