Double defeat for Failsworth

CRICKET:

FAILSWORTH Macedonia and Springhead suffered double defeats in the Site Electrical North Manchester Cricket League Division One.

In their first encounter, the Failsworth outfit were bowled out for 128 by Littleborough Lakeside and could not prevent the visitors reaching a winning total.

And 24 hours later, chasing 96 against Blackley, they fell 23 runs short.

Basement boys Springhead were skittled for 55 by Ashton Ladysmith, who cruised to a nine-wicket triumph.

And it went from bad to worse the following day. Westleigh Meths posted 253 for four and dismissed Springhead for just 56.
