MICK Jewitt won the fifth round of the Cairo AC summer series on the Park Lake after catching chub and roach weighed 14lb 10oz.

The Tight Lines rod edged out Malc Taylor (Gilders), whose almost identical net came in at 13lb 9oz.

Paul Lord finished third with 9lb of chub and roach, taken on bronze maggot.

In round six, Jewitt again claimed first place, his chub and roach making up 15lb 3oz.

Webb ended with a similar catch but lagged behind on 10lb 1oz, followed by Matthew Corbally (Tight Lines) with 8lb 11oz of skimmers, roach and chub.

IN the Monarch AC match on the club water, Dave Ireland made it two wins in a row.

Using chopped worm and caster, he helped himself to 25lb 5oz of ide, skimmers and roach, ahead of Dave White (15lb 7oz) and Dean Pickering (12lb 3oz).

THE Medlock Bridge contest on the Park Lake saw Bill Brierley take top spot, with his maggot and pellet approach mustering plenty of roach, perch, chub and skimmers in a 12lb 6oz net.

Second spot went to Martin Taylor — pole and caster tactics helped him claim chub and roach adding up to 12lb 4oz.

Organiser Darren Webb was third with tench and skimmers (9lb 11oz).

Please note that the draw for the Oldham Park Lake matches is now on Kings Road.

KEITH Adams led the way in Lees and Hey AS’ meeting at the Straight Mile Fisheries.

His seven carp and barbel totalled 28lb 4oz, which pushed Alan Steele — who managed 19lb of mostly carp — into second place. In third, Lawrence Kouras took 14lb of carp.

DAVE Machin’s outstanding record on Tanners Dam continued in the Diggle AC evening series contest, as he took top spot with 27lb 4oz of carp taken on a 14 metre pole.

Runner-up John Berry landed carp and skimmers weighing 15lb 8oz, while Gideon Orr came third thanks to 11lb 11oz of carp and skimmers.
