CRICKET: WOODHOUSES hit the road to Cotswold Hills League outfit Shipston-on-Stour on Sunday for their last-16 clash in the Persimmon Village Cup.
It’s all to play for as Mike Cassidy’s side look to move a step closer to a dream final at Lord’s.
And they could not be better placed to continue their cup adventure.
The Medlock Road side are enjoying a rich vein of form, boosted by a superb start to the season which has taken them to the summit of the Lees Brewery Lancashire League Division One.
Though all eyes will be on the cup showdown, Woodhouses must attend to league duty first — they go to Dukinfield tomorrow.
LEADERS Delph entertain Hoylandswaine tomorrow in the Drakes Huddersfield Premiership.
Grant Jones’ men will need to have their wits about them against decent opposition, who currently occupy fifth place in the table.
But Jones and Co. will be confident of gaining a positive result after inflicting a heavy defeat on Marsden last time out.
Micklehurst are another team who are surely confident of enjoying a successful return from their next fixture.
Tomorrow they travel to Lascelles Hall, who are bottom of the Cedar Court Conference, having won just twice this season.
