Uppermill eye finals day

CRICKET; WITH Heyside safely through to finals day in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League’s Twenty20 Cup competition, the focus now turns to the three remaining quarter-final ties.
Uppermill, who were beaten at the last-four stage in 2010, play host to Shaw tonight.
The other two matches take place tomorrow, with inaugural winners Saddleworth welcoming Stayley to Well-i-Hole and Greenfield locking horns with Friarmere at Ladhill Lane.
Heyside are seeking a third straight win in the competition, which is sponsored by 20-20 Vision, of Uppermill. Matches start at 6.30pm.
SPRINGHEAD suffered defeat at Littleborough Lakeside in the Site Electrical North Manchester League Division One after being bowled out for just 38.
The hosts reached their target for the loss of one wicket.
Failsworth Macedonia were also beaten. After losing all their wickets for 99, they saw opponents Tottington St Johns clinch a three-wicket win.
