FRESH from their Huddersfield League Twenty20 victory over Elland in the quarter-finals, Delph travel to struggling Shelley tomorrow in the Drakes Huddersfield Premiership.

Man-of-the-moment is Faisal Butt, who smashed 156 balls from just 70 balls in the comprehensive cup win — an innings which included 14 fours and 13 sixes.

Back on league duty, Delph are looking to stay at the summit. They hold a one-point lead over Kirkburton.

Micklehurst will be looking for a change of fortunes when they entertain third-placed Cawthorne in the Cedar Court Conference.

A poor run of form has seen Jonny Forrester’s side plummet from mid-table to second-from-bottom.

They are now level on points with basement boys Lascelles Hall, who beat the Castle Lane outfit last time out.

WOODHOUSES go into their home encounter with Glossop in the Lees Brewery Lancashire County League Division One on the crest of a wave.

The Medlock Road team are buzzing after booking their place in the Persimmon Village Cup quarter-finals, courtesy of a victory at Shipston-on-Stour.

Two more triumphs would see Mike Cassidy’s men head to Lord’s for the final.

Tomorrow’s encounter gives them the chance to avenge the loss they suffered at the hands of their Derbyshire rivals earlier this season.

Defeat at Dukinfield last time out saw Woodhouses lose top spot to Prestwich.

LANCASHIRE Over-50s completed their group games in the National Cup with a nine-runs win over Northumberland at Littleborough.

Glen Bullock made 83, Mike Ingham 32 and Royton’s John Punchard 31 as Lancashire rattled up 266 for five.

Northumberland were then restricted to 257 for six.

Lancashire’s opponents for their last-16 match have still to be decided, along with the date and venue.

DELPH have been drawn at home to Golcar in the last four of the Drakes Huddersfield League’s Twenty20 Cup. The other semi-final tie sees Honley play host to Kirkburton. Matches take place on Friday, July 22 (start 6.30pm).
