FRIARMERE, losing finalists in 2007, booked their ticket for the last four of this year’s Twenty20 Cup after an eight-wicket victory at Greenfield.
And they were joined in the semi-finals by Saddleworth, inaugural winners of the competition, after the Well-i-Hole outfit got the better of Stayley.
Friarmere, thanks to 52 from overseas amateur Husnain Haider and an unbeaten 51 from Darren Shadford, registered 160 for two from their 20 overs at Ladhill Lane.
Glyn Partington hit 31 in reply, but professional Josh Butler’s four for 19 helped restrict the home side to 98.
Saddleworth won by a five-wicket margin after restricting Stayley to 137 for eight.
Friarmere, Saddleworth, Heyside, the holders, and Shaw now go into the draw for the last four of the competition, sponsored by 20-20 Vision of Uppermill.
