OLDHAM Academy had a double cause for celebration in the Manchester Snooker League.

Cuemasters from the club, based at Osborne Mill, won top honours in Division One and Division Two.

The ‘B’ team lifted the Division One title. Meanwhile Kalid Mahmood, Nadeem Hussain, Naser Iqbal, Mohammed Naveed and Mohammed Tofeyal Ahmed, of the ‘C’ team, finished top of the pile in Division Two.

High-fives as Moss stretch advantage
MOSS Inn stormed six points clear of Oldham Acadamy ‘B’ in the Manchester Three-Man Summer League with a comprehensive 5-1 win at Riley’s Belle Vue ‘B’.

First to the table was Mick Dickenson, who knocked in a break of 37, only for his opponent to clinch victory by clearing up the colours.

Dickenson recovered to win frame two with a 38-break, and Moss did not look back.

In-form Michael Wild had scores of 38 in the first and 42 in the second to put the visitors 3-1 in front.

Last to the table was Mick Webb, who extended his side’s lead with a break of 29 and a 47 clearance.

And Webb made no mistake in the last frame of the evening, producing a fine break of 57.

Moss have no game tomorrow.
