CRICKET: WOODHOUSES skipper Mike Cassidy hopes the Persimmon Village Cup semi-final against holders Sessay will attract more than 1,000 fans to Medlock Road on August 7.
Cassidy’s side are one win away from a dream final at Lord’s after seeing off Stainsby Hall in their own back yard in the last round.
And the captain believes home advantage can be the deciding factor.
He said: “It is a huge game against the team who won the competition last season.
“Those things combined with what will hopefully be a nice day weather-wise could see more than 1,000 people come along.
“It would certainly make it a memorable occasion. We have a great chance of winning and getting to Lord’s.”
