BOWLS: GREATER Manchester champion Gareth Gwilliam takes on his North Lancs and Fylde counterpart Wayne Ditchfield in the All-England Merit at Meole Brace BC, Shrewsbury, tomorrow (10am).
HEATS continue in the Moorside Classic tonight (6.30pm) when the players on show include Clive Chapman, Dave O’Brien, Paul Firth, Neil Kirkman, Ged Smedley, Colin Brooks, Wayne Usher, Steve Copeland and Dave Jackson.
TONGE aces Gary Ellis, Jimmy Derby and Simon Coupe will bid for places in Sunday’s quarter-finals of the Hilltops Open at Blackrod, Bolton, tonight (6.30pm).
Ellis takes on former Oldham RU man Stuart Kenyon, Derby plays Tony Rawlinson and Coupe faces the challenge of Garswood Hall’s Billy Speed.
