ANGLING: ORGANISER Darren Webb and Bob Harrison tied for first place in one of two Medlock Bridge AC matches on the Park Lake.
Using pellet, Harrison caught three decent tench and skimmers while Webb tipped a tench, skimmers and bream. Both nets came in at 13lb.

In the second showdown, Robert Kershaw won with 11lb 3oz of chub and skimmers.
Webb filled the runners-up slot with 11lb 1oz of small roach and decent chub.
The Medlock Bridge contest at Strinesdale saw Brierley clinch victory with 15lb 3oz of roach and chub.
Harrison followed with a similar net that only just fell short, and Dave Chadwick came third.
MICK Taylor won the first of two Monarch AC meetings, claiming carp and skimmers which weighed 15lb 15oz.
Runner-up Mick Diskin bagged 15lb 3oz of ide and roach and Dean Pickering secured third position courtesy of 13lb 14oz of skimmers and roach.
In the second match, John Ketteringham earned bragging rights with three carp taken on meat adding up to 24lb 14oz.
Pickering came next with skimmers making up 19lb 1oz, ahead of Dave Ireland and his roach and ide (15lb 11oz).
LEE Birchenough led the way in the Saddleworth and District Angling Society’s contest on Eagle Mill Dam, with a pole and pellet approach tempting 11lb 8oz of chub, crucians, tench, rudd and skimmer.
Ian Wilcox was up next with a similar net totalling 11lb 7oz, and in third place Keith Smith weighed in with a 10lb 8oz mixed bag.
STEVE Orr claimed top spot in Cranberry AC’s contest on Bradshaw thanks to 17lb of ide and carp taken in the last two hours on chopped worm and caster, fished on the pole.
MALC Taylor (Gilders) triumphed in the final match of the Cairo AC summer series when he collected 17lb 11oz of tench, roach, rudd and perch.
Overall series winner Mick Jewitt (Tight Lines) accounted for 9lb 9oz of tench, roach and rudd, beating Mick McDonald (Gilders) into third. McDonald took 4lb 11oz of roach, rudd and tench.
VENUE GUIDE
Ogden Reservoir – Fishing really well for bream and roach. Bream to the tip, worm and red maggot. Roach to waggler and maggot.
Huddersfield Narrow Canal – Carp to 6lb from most sections but otherwise a bit of a struggle.
Rochdale Canal – Roach and skimmers showing to all baits. Pegs behind the vinegar works for roach and skimmers. Odd tench and bream behind the bungalows at Middleton junction.
Chadderton Mill Lodge – Ide and carp to paste and caster.
Park Lake – Hemp and caster seems to be winning a few matches on here now but maggot is always a good bet for the many chub, roach and skimmers. Pellet still taking fish.
