CRICKET: AFTER disposing of one of their title rivals last Saturday, Uppermill face another in the Armstrongs Office Furniture Saddleworth and District Cricket League tomorrow.
They had to dig deep to defeat Heyside — they scraped home by one wicket — and they will need to be at their best at Saddleworth.
Reigning champions Bamford Fieldhouse, for whom professional Grant Hodnett is the first player to reach 1,000 runs in the league this season, play Heyside in a warm-up to Sunday week’s Tanner Cup final.
Fixtures:
Tomorrow: Austerlands v Droylsden; Greenfield v Glodwick; Heyside v Bamford Fieldhouse; Moorside v Friarmere; Saddleworth v Uppermill; Shaw v Stayley.
SUnday: Moore Cup final: Bamford Fieldhouse v Hollinwood.
