SNOOKER:
MOSS Inn recorded an eighth win in nine games at Crucible ‘C’ to go five points clear at the top of their section in the Three-Man Manchester Snooker Summer League.
But Moss, who registered a 4-2 victory, had to come from behind after Mick Smith lost both his frames against ex-professional Mark Carrington.
Moorside pro Michael Wild maintained his rich vein of form with breaks of 54 and 68 to tie the match at 2-2.
Last to the table was captain Mick Dickenson, who outwitted his opponent with some sublime snooker in front of audience which included World Championship semi-finalist on two occasions, Joe Swail.
With one match to go, Moss Inn have already secured their place in the semi-finals, where the top two teams from each group qualify.
They are at home to Staly Vegas ‘A’ tomorrow (8pm).
