Failsworth edge it

CRICKET: FAILSWORTH Macedonia beat Robinsons by a single wicket in Division One of the Site Electrical North Manchester Cricket League, scoring 167 for nine in reply to 163 for nine.
In Division Two, Saddleworth (141) defeated Elton Vale (104), while Division Three action saw Failsworth Macedonia (153) lose at home to Farnworth SC (228).
Also in Division Three, Failsworth (242-4) beat Greenfield (89), and Austerlands (216) saw off Swinton Moorside (139-8).
NORDEN could clinch the league title on Saturday – even though there will still be six sets of fixtures remaining.
They are 26 points in front of second-placed Middleton, 28 ahead of Littleborough (third) and 30 clear of Rochdale (fourth).
That means a win at Radcliffe, defeat for Middleton at home to Oldham and a reverse for Boro at Monton and Weaste would make Norden safe, assuming Rochdale fail to pick up maximum points at Unsworth.
