Crompton win team knock-out

BOWLS:
CROMPTON ‘A’ won the Saddleworth Bowling League’s Law Swallow Cup when they defeated Springbank ‘A’ in the final at Springhead.
PAUL Heap and Ben Stapleton, who play for Friezland in the ‘A’ Division of the Chadderton Bowling League, landed the top prize of £300 in the Thwaites men’s pairs at Norden BC.
GREATER Manchester were beaten by Warwick and Worcester in their Drakes Pride Junior County Championship semi-final on Sunday.
They lost 200-188 at their home venue of Royton Park, and by 223-181 at Great Barr BC, Birmingham.
Winners at home for Manchester were Bradley Cooke (21-6) player-of-the-match Sarah Vincent
(21-9), Tom Eccles (21-20) and Jack Holland (21-8).
Away from home, there were wins for Jordan Barker (21-17), Ryan Bancroft (21-11), Jack Hargreaves (21-14), Aaron Dunbar (21-20) and player-of-the-match Ben Gloag (21-14).
LATEST third-round results in the Moorside Classic: Keith McHugh 17, Graeme Wilson 21; John Jones 16, Lee Lawton 21; Matt Gillies 11, Jonathan Copeland 21; Ben Phillips 14, Gary Ellis 21.
The finals will take place on Sunday (1.30pm).
