CRICKET: FORESTERS secured second spot in the Ashton and Oldham Alliance after a fine win at champions Friends.
Batting first, the visitors clocked up 173 for eight, with J Yates top scoring with 46 and Amin claiming three for 33 for the home team.
Nadeem led the Friends resistance with 62, but it was not enough as his side were bowled out for 101, N Khan taking three for 28.
The following day saw Heyside thirds entertain Europa Exiles, who took first knock and made 206 for five. A Hodgson made 60.
Heyside were dismissed for 83 following a hat-trick from J Joshi, who took five for 18.
