CRICKET: ROYTON have moved up to sixth place in the Lake Garage CLL and, with four games remaining, will be desperate to end the season in style and secure a place in next year’s LCB Cup.
To do so, they must finish in the top five and skipper Alan Durose will no doubt remind his side that this weekend will be crucial if they are to realise that ambition.
A trip to Milnrow tomorrow and home game against local rivals Werneth on Sunday represents a tricky double header.
But victory in both fixtures would see Royton take a giant stride towards their goal.
Werneth warm up for Sunday’s derby with a home game against in-form Rochdale, while Oldham go to Monton and Weaste before entertaining neighbours Crompton.
The Glebe Street men, who have found a bit of form for skipper Carl Taylor recently, play host to newly-crowned champions Norden tomorrow.
TOMORROW: Crompton v Norden; Middleton v Ashton; Milnrow v Royton; Monton and Weaste v Oldham; Radcliffe v Littleborough; Unsworth v Heywood; Walsden v Clifton; Werneth v Rochdale.
SUNDAY: Ashton v Radcliffe; Clifton v Unsworth; Heywood v Walsden; Littleborough v Middleton; Norden v Monton and Weaste; Oldham v Crompton; Rochdale v Milnrow; Royton v Werneth.
Matches start at the earlier time of 1pm.
