FORMER Crompton bowler Dale Highton is closing in on a notable landmark.
The Middleton spinner has taken 95 wickets for the season and, with two fixtures left, looks odds-on to reach the 100 mark providing the weather holds.
Whatever is fate on that score, Highton looks sure to be the leading amateur wicket taker for the season in the CLL as Norden’s Oliver Makin, his nearest pursuer, is eight victims behind.
