SPRINGHEAD saw off West Didsbury 3-1 in the Bridgewater Office Supplies Manchester League Premier Division.

West Didsbury took an early lead, but Springhead equalised through a stunning Richard Bennett free-kick.

Lee McAallister’s side were in front just before half-time through Mark Hopwood.

With five minutes remaining Bennett secured the win.

In a 1-1 draw with Walshaw Sports, Springhead’s Rick Massey was on target.

Avro enjoyed a 5-0 win at the expense of AFC Bury and earned a 1-1 draw at Wythenshawe Amateurs.




UPPERMILL roared to a 5-1 win at Slaithwaite in the Huddersfield and District League Division One.



Kristian Ventress gave Simon Tait’s side the lead after just 37 seconds.

Gareth Chew doubled the advantage after 18 minutes, and Uppermill grabbed a third before the break when Chew fed Nick Fitzpatrick, who produced a classy finish.

Ventress made it a brace soon after the restart with a volley.

Substitute Chris Moores extended the lead before Slaithwaite pulled back a goal with 12 minutes remaining.

Elsewhere, Diggle were beaten 4-1 at Newsome.






CHADDERTONIANS beat Prestwich 4-2 in the Lancashire Amateur League Premier Division, and drew 1-1 with Old Mancunians.



But champions Failsworth Dynamos suffered two defeats in a row, losing 4-3 at home to Rochdale St Clements and 5-0 at Prestwich.




AFC OLDHAM picked up a point at Whalley Range following a 2-2 draw in the Lancashire and Cheshire League Premier Division.



They followed it up with a 2-1 victory at Chorltonians.
