Halford injury blow

NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL:
MOSSLEY are without Steve Halford for tonight’s trip to Runcorn Linnets in the FA Cup preliminary round replay (7.45pm kick-off).
The centre-half limped out of Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Seel Park with a hamstring injury and was replaced by Nick Swirad.
Halford’s place could be handed to Swirad tonight, although boss Gareth McClelland could play midfield man Peter Band at the back.
McClelland said: “It is a shame we are missing Steve but I have a couple of options in defence.
“Nick might get the nod but Peter has vast experience and in the last few years has been just as comfortable in the back four as he is in the middle of the park.
“It is going to be a very difficult game and I expect there will only be one goal between the teams.
“As I have said, we are very keen to progress in the cup competitions to give the club a cash boost with the extra revenue.”
A LATE fightback from Chadderton was not enough to prevent a 4-3 home defeat to Rochdale Town in the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One last night.
Tom Hughes put the hosts ahead after 10 minutes but two goals from Chris Ogunyode and a James Greenhalgh strike gave Town a 3-1 lead at the break.
Greenhalgh scored again after an hour to put the visitors in control.
Leon Melia pulled one back five minutes later and Matthew Chadwick netted in the 85th minute, but Chadderton could not find an equaliser.
OLDHAM Boro travel to Cheadle Town tomorrow in the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One (7.45pm).
Tony Mills has no new injury concerns and is likely to stick with the side that started the 2-1 win against Abbey Hey at the weekend.
