Clubs seal cup place

CRICKET:
SADDLEWORTH and Shaw sealed LCB Cup qualification after securing fourth and fifth place finishes respectively in the Armstrongs Office Furniture Saddleworth and District League.
The clubs held off a late top-five bid from Friarmere, who beat Droylsden by eight wickets after dismissing their opponents for 99.
Peter Skuse took five for 58 as Saddleworth bowled out Moorside for 132.
Rain stopped play and the weathertime system kicked in, with Saddleworth needing 127 from 43 overs, which they achieved for the loss of three wickets.
Shaw saw Austerlands declare after roaring to 263 for five. Andy Young's side lost their wickets for 162 in reply.
