FOOTBALL:
OLDHAM Boro suffered a 3-2 reverse at Atherton Collieries in Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One last night.
The home side went ahead after six minutes courtesy of a Paul Atherton goal, only for Lee Deakin to equalise on the quarter-hour mark.
Paul Shanley restored Collieries’ lead in the 63rd minute, before Sam Parkinson made it 3-1.
Boro did pull another goal back, but Niall Swanick’s 90th-minute effort was too little too late for Tony Mills’ men.
Buoyed by their first win of the season, Mossley visit Garforth Town in Division One of the Evo-Stik League tonight.
Lilywhites manager Gareth McClelland will be hoping for a repeat of Saturday’s display.
They swept aside Ossett Albion 6-2 at Seel Park, with Cameron Darkwah grabbing a hat-trick.
