Association prize landed by Ann

GOLF:

ANN Smith (Oldham) won the annual Oldham Ladies’ Golf Association Past Captains' competition held at Crompton and Royton.

Barbara Whiting (Werneth) was second, followed by Jenny Knight (Saddleworth) and Kath Storey (Brookdale), who edged out Joan Booth (Crompton and Royton) on a card play-off.


WERNETH ladies held a foursomes competition and Daily Mail qualifier which went to Sheila Whittingham and Glynis Jones with 30 points.

Runners-up on 29 points were Barbara Whiting and Dee Whittingham.
