Angling: CRANBERRY AC’s match on Partridge Fisheries’ Pine Lake was a family affair as father and son Steve and Mark Eaton-Dykes claimed two of the top three places.

Steve, the winner, used the short pole, maggot and pellet attack for plenty of carp, which tipped the scales to 23lb 4oz.

Organiser Steve Orr is having his best season for a while and took second with worm and caster across for 22lb 8oz of carp, ide, skimmers, perch and roach. Mark came third — his pellet and maggot approach tempted a 19lb mixed bag.

CHRIS Oliver led the way in Todmorden AS’s club match on the Townhouse Fishery, where he caught 32lb 8oz of carp on the waggler and pellet. Pete Mottram (32lb 3oz) followed, with Chris Lett (24lb 10oz) in third.

THE Medlock Bridge AC open was won by Pete Cuniffe when his maggot and caster method accounted for 11lb 11oz of chub, skimmers, roach, perch and tench. Runner-up Tony Clark took a small chub net of 6lb 2oz.

MONARCH AC winter league honours went to Mick Diskin, who used maggot to tempt roach and ide weighing 18lb 14oz. Dave Ireland came second with 16lb 12oz of carp and ide.

ALTHOUGH weights were not brilliant, High Heyes Farm Fishery still worked out well for the Oldham Central AC meeting.

In-form Paul Fisher bagged top spot with 16lb 5oz of carp and barbel using pellet and worm on the long pole. Up next was Jeff Isaacs with 11lb 13oz of carp on chopped worm. Club champion for this year is Darren Jones, with Dave Timmens clinching the runner-up berth.
