DARTS:
OLDHAM darts team had a better average than Lancashire GMC Super Eights opponents Burnley, but somehow contrived to lose 7-3.

Downs gave Oldham a flying start with a 4-2 victory over England player and Yorkshire captain Garry Thompson, averaging 74.99 with every three darts.
Ian Walters recorded an excellent 86.63 in his 4-3 victory, but Jackson was even better, returning a three-darts average of 87.77 and hitting two maximums in his 4-2 success.
Oldham’s next match is at home to St Helens on Sunday, October 16.
