SNOOKER:
CHADDERTON Reform recorded an emphatic 6-0 victory over Royton Band in the Pet Au Purrs Oldham Amateur Snooker League.
S Giblin got the ball rolling for the home side before wins for D Johnson, D Smyth and B Scholey gave Reform a commanding lead and N Price took the last frame to complete a whitewash.
Breaks of 37 from Martin Kennedy and 35 from Danny Balcerzak helped Little Cot ‘A’ to a fighting 3-3 draw against Blue Club ‘A’, while Danny Reece’s 36 break helped Deaf ‘B’ to overcome Springbank ‘B’ 4-2.
EVERY game finished with a 4-2 scoreline as the Saw-Tech Shaw Snooker League got under way.
Comrades ‘B’ lost to their ‘A’ team, but Royton Cons ‘B’ – for whom A Bamford made a 43 break and W Timperley 35 – proved too strong for the club’s ‘A’ outfit.
League champions Moss Inn had an open date and will start the defence of their title next week.
Comrades ‘B’ (346) 2, Comrades ‘A’ (399) 4: C Sladen 67, I McWilliams 82; L Patterson 71, T Higginbottom 64; M Wills 56, S Robinson 126; M Taylor 61, C Connor 68; B Flint 89, M Hobbs 58. Cards 2-3, Darts 1-4.
