CRICKET: WERNETH will have the youngest captain in the Lake Garage CLL next season.
Matthew Taylor (20), who enjoyed a terrific season with bat and ball this summer, has taken over the reins from Andy Walker.
Adie McMahon, Werneth’s cricket chairman, said: “We would like to thank Andy for his four successful seasons as captain.
“He has done a terrific job in meeting the challenges we have faced.
“Matty has captained the under-18s so he has some experience and we are looking forward to next season.
“He will get all the help and support he needs.”
Taylor has yet to appoint his vice-captain.
