Humiliation for Hollinwood

RUGBY: HOLLINWOOD slipped to the bottom of North-West Counties League Division Three after a humiliating 60-0 defeat at mid-table Eccleston.
The local outfit never got out of the blocks and only a handful of players performed to their potential.
Hollinwood did suffer an early blow, losing Michael Rowe to injury.
To add to their woes, fellow prop Kev Collins had several spells on the sidelines also because of injury, while forward Lee Moore was knocked out in the process of making a tackle.
Eccleston had quick defensive line, always had two or three players in the tackle and had support in attack.
In contrast, Hollinwood were weak in defence, while players often found themselves isolated with the ball going forward.
For the first time this season the side looked out of place at this level.
Still, Peter Davies was voted man-of-match, while Michael Richmond made good yards without back-up, on a day that Hollinwood will quickly want to forget.
In Division Two, Higginshaw were unable to fulfil their fixture at Orrell St James, who were gifted an 18-0 win.
