High-flying Cot on a roll

SNOOKER: LITTLE Cot ‘A’ extended their unbeaten run to eight matches in the Pet Au Purrs Oldham Amateur Snooker League with a 5-1 victory over CBC.
Inspired by breaks of 34 from Danny Balcerzak and Martin Kennedy’s 32, they remain the top of the table.
Danny Reece, with a break of 32 in the last frame, secured a 5-1 win for Deaf ‘B’ against Blue Club ‘A’.
The match between Chadderton Reform and Little Cot ‘B’ could not have been much closer after five frames.
The aggregate scores were all square, so the back ball was re-spotted and N Price held his nerve to gain the extra point and secure a 3-3 draw for Chadderton.
OLDHAM Snooker Academy ‘A’ returned to winning ways in the Manchester Snooker League with a fine 5-2 home win against high-flying Denton Libs.
After Farakh Ajaib lost the opening frame, Danny Gleeson restored parity before Martin McGuiness edged his side ahead.
Craig Atherton was an unlucky loser after going in-off, and it was left to Mohammed Nisar to win the deciding frame and claim the aggregate.
Academy ‘B’, the reigning champions, were cruising 2-0 and leading by 59 on the aggregate at Staly Vegas ‘C’, only to lose 5-2.
Tanveer Hussain and Shuja Riaz were the successful Academy duo.
