Lord rules for flying Oldham

HOCKEY: UNBEATEN Oldham firsts saw off Carlisle 2-1 to pick up a valuable first victory of the campaign in North Women’s League Division Two.
The winning goal was scored by Gill Lord in the second half, following good approach work from player-of-the-day Oona Cassidy.
It was a first win for the team in the division, following two draws, lifting them to fifth in the table. But coach Kevin Jackson is still of the opinions they have more to give.
A scrappy start saw Carlisle take the lead after 20 minutes and with time slipping away before the change of ends, a perfect Karen Rowley strike made it 1-1 before Lord had the final say after the restart.
