TABLE TENNIS: JEFF CRAIGHILL displayed excellent powers of recovery to help earn Glodwick ‘B’ a 5-5 draw against BAE ‘A’ in Division One of the Oldham Table Tennis League.
Craighill posted a hat-trick of wins, despite being two sets down against Tony Bates.
Glodwick’s ‘A’ team, on the other hand, were comfortable 9-1 winners over Rosehill, with Khamal Hussain and Mark Ramsbottom recording maximums. Phil Ashworth gained the consolation point.
Honeywell ‘B’ registered their first win of the season, 6-4 against Hollinwood C.
Tommy Ryan was the difference as his maximum helped secure the much-needed win.
In Division Two, Steve Hilton’s maximum was not enough as Hyde YMCA ‘B’ lost 6-4 against Werneth ‘C’, for whom Mick Pellowe, Karen Hill and Doug Hill recorded two wins apiece.
